From Heartbreak to Healing: The Incredible Second Act of Princess, the 11-Year-Old Senior
rincess (aka βPβ) is an 11-year-old senior dog whose life took a heartbreaking turn when she was surrendered back to the Agoura Animal Care Center after nine years in a home. Terrified, flea-infested, and too anxious for a basic exam, she received urgent medical care and anxiety support funded by Healthcare for Homeless Animals. In early 2026, adopter Jade met Princess and gave her the second chance she deserved, but their new beginning quickly became a fight for her life when a hidden oral mass and a severe vestibular episode sent her to emergency care. With community-funded hospitalization and surgery, Princess had an oral melanoma removed with clear margins and clean follow-up scans. Now fully healed, thriving, and finally feeling safe, βPβ is proof that senior rescue dogs can overcome the odds with compassion, veterinary care, and a loving home.
Robby is urgently looking for his forever home and we are asking for your help to find it.
Meet Robby π - a playful, affectionate young German Shepherd who is urgently looking for his forever home.
When Robby first arrived at the Agoura Animal Care Center, he was diagnosed with Megaesophagus (ME), a lifelong condition that affects how food moves from the mouth to the stomach. Dogs with ME rely on gravity to eat safely, which means consistent routines and proper positioning are essential. Unfortunately, this level of care cannot be safely managed in a shelter environment.
Saving Lily: A Story of Hope, Healing, and Community
Lilyβs journey is nothing short of miraculous. This sweet German Shepherd puppy arrived at the Agoura Animal Care Center after being hit by a car, suffering a fractured pelvis. Despite the tough road ahead, Lilyβs resilience shone through. With the help of Healthcare for Homeless Animals (HHA) and expert care from Malibu Coast Animal Hospital, Oaks Vet Care, and ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital, Lily battled through pneumonia, pneumothorax, and two major surgeries. Thanks to the unwavering support of her foster and the generosity of the Tom Petty Estate, Lily is now on the road to recovery β a true testament to the life-saving impact of HHA and its supporters.
